A CNC Waterjet is a machine that utilizes a mixture of extremely high-pressure water and abrasive material (garnet) to cut through a wide variety of materials. The pump is designed to filter the water and generate a cutting pressure of 50,000-60,000 PSI through a series of high-pressure water lines. Cutting speed is determined by material type, thickness, cut edge finish quality, & cutting pressure. Compared to other industry cutting processes: Waterjets cut 5-10 times faster than EDM while sacrificing minimal part tolerancing, and generally cut slower than a plasma/laser cutter but greatly improve part tolerancing and edge quality.
